MEET THE ARTIST
I am a music major who also likes to draw, write stories and make comics. I get inspiration from movies and tv, video games, comic strips, listening to music, funny things, going outside, and pretty much anything I see that I think is cool.
What work do you currently have at ShopColumbia?
Currently in the shop I have a sticker design called "Guitar Solo Sticker", and a few pairs of guitar earrings called "Guitearrings".
What inspired you to create this series of work?
I was inspired to create the "Guitearrings" after I learned what Shrinky Dinks were, and I got a bunch of ideas for cool things I could make with them. The sticker design started out as a doodle that I later cleaned up digitally because I liked the idea.
In what ways do you think you have benefited from being a ShopColumbia artist?
The process of getting my art into ShopColumbia has made me consider aspects of selling items that I hadn’t run into before. For example, I had to think about how to display my products in the store, which isn’t a consideration when selling online. I’ve learned very helpful things from this experience that I can use going forward as an artist and creator.
Give us an update about recent project/artistic life events; what’s next for you?
I continue to draw as much as I can and keep an eye out for inspiration wherever I go. Next semester, I will come up with new sticker designs and maybe even play with other mediums. I am also working as a consultant and artist on a pitch for a cartoon, and will be working on it more if the show gets picked up!
