Artist Statement: Growing up, my aunt taught me how to make jewelry, which has followed me my entire life. It evolved from simple bead jewelry, to wire work, to taking a class in college. Though I lack the facilities the school offered, I still make what I can at home. I take inspiration from nature and events occurring around me. To make my jewelry, I am usually inspired by something I have or an event; such as a charm, bead, or movie; and use that to get ideas and designs. Many of my pieces are inspired by something I found in the jewelry supplies I received from my aunt. This collection was made inspired by dark, evil forces with a whimsical touch.
