Artist Statement:
Heather Monks studied Commercial Photography Major at Columbia College Chicago. Photography has been her passion for nearly six years, and continues to be her driving force. Monks is currently finding the beauty in the natural world and working on communicating that beauty to the public.
Her series 'Icy' derived from freezing flowers in her small mini fridge and creating these icy worlds. The images are photographed while being lit from below and later processed to have the colors manipulated to a more fantastical world.
