Artist Statement: Christalyn Barker is a Junior Photojournalism major (and Music Business minor) student at Columbia College Chicago. They are inspired by nature, their photo peers, and concert photographers like Jawn Rocha. She stems from a town 30 minutes out west of Detroit called Dearborn but Chicago's extending possibilities have shaped their photography and approach.
