Artist Statement: Boston Netterfield-Kline is an emerging illustrator currently attending Columbia College Chicago. His work addresses concepts of self, the body, and the role interpersonal relationships play in perception. Boston uses bold colors and stark contrasts to create a legibility of emotion, meditating on the gap between established visual language and subjective somatic experiences. These elements work in tandem to explore ideas of nervous intimacy and the pursuit of communication.
