Artist Statement: Angela Kalish is a Chicago-based mixed-media artist. Her art has always been a means of self-expression and a way to spark joy, often taking a whimsical yet edgy approach to the mundane aspects of life. It frequently focuses on and glamorizes subjects typically labeled "undesirable" and enables a playful shift in perspective. Though she studied graphic design, she enjoys practicing illustration, painting, and various traditional printmaking techniques.
