Artist Statement:

Maryam Rodgers is a passionate photographer and visual storyteller, dedicated to capturing the world through a lens that blends creativity with meaning. Currently pursuing a degree in photography, she is constantly practicing and experimenting with light and different themes and settings.

I see photography as a way to step outside the ordinary—to create something unexpected, a little strange, and entirely my own. I’m drawn to fine art photography because it gives me the freedom to experiment, to blend reality with imagination, and to make images that feel unique and personal. Much of my work explores feminine identity, both as a personal journey and a broader reflection of strength, softness, and transformation. Through surreal and unconventional imagery, I examine the ways femininity is expressed, challenged, and redefined.

Photography isn’t just about taking pictures for me—it’s about seeing the world differently and sharing that perspective in a way that makes people pause, question, or simply feel something.
