Artist Statement: El Carrel is third year student at Columbia College Chicago studying Illustration as a major and Game art as a minor. Inspired by a multitude of mediums and artforms, they strive to invoke a childlike sense of joy in their audience. El comes from Normal, Illinois and spends a majority of their time drawing. When they aren’t working, El takes care of their cat, reads, or watches movies, all of which inspire their work. Their dream is to inspire the future generation with stories and artwork just like the artists that came before them.
