Artist Statement:
Nice to meet you! My name is Emily and I'm an artist based in the Chicagoland area, working towards a BA in Animation with a minor in Illustration. Since switching career paths from medical to artistic, I've learned a lot about what it means to make art and have fun with it, and that is what inspires my work. Being able to experiment with colors, textures, and shapes, and breaking away from the original box I placed in myself has helped me become a much happier and complete person, and it is that feeling of happiness that I wish to spread to those who see my work. My favorite genres to work in are comedy and horror, though I love trying new things and playing around with different ideas. In my free time, you will most definitely catch me drinking tea with one of the many cute mugs I like to collect. As for what I'd be doing, I would probably be playing games, baking, taking care of my plants, or crocheting gifts for someone I care about! I also really love to create art with different mediums, whether traditional painting or sketching, to origami, or even ceramics! There is a lot in this world to love, and I try to give myself time to enjoy it all.
