• This is a CD jewel case of my new EP, Confessions featuring five new songs written by me and co-produced alongside my producer, Kevin Mendoza.

Artist Statement: My name is Vian Siriwardena, but my artist name is Vian Haziel. I’m an indie pop singer-songwriter from Newton, MA, and a junior at Columbia College Chicago, where I’m studying Music with a minor in Music Business. Inspired by artists like Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran, my sound blends pop with subtle R&B influences. Confessions is a collection of songs I wrote when I was 15, which I revisited and reworked during my sophomore year alongside my producer, Kevin Mendoza. It describes a unique, yet dark experience in my life where I felt lost, helpless, and betrayed. This EP marked the beginning of my journey into songwriting, which made it all the more important to finally release it. The project also touches on broader themes such as the expectation to be perfect, the fragility of friendships, and the consequences of mental health. Above all, I hope this resonates with anyone who feels weighed down by their past and reminds them they’re not alone, and that it’s never too late to pick yourself back up again.
