Artist Statement: Lynn Stoudmire is a Chicago-based Black illustrator who creates fantastical character art, with a touch of nostalgia, to spread her joy in comfort media to urban youth struggling with mental health. Her art is influenced by fantastical realism, science fiction, and alternative cultures and styles she grew up with. She aims for her art to be an escape and evoke the wonder lost to aging in society.
