Artist Statement: My name is Morgan. I am technically a Chicago native since I was born in the West Englewood Neighborhood but I spent most of my life in the northern suburb of North Chicago (an actual city). I’ve always drawn as I didn’t have many toys when I was younger and my favorite subjects were “pretty girls.” Lisa Frank and Bratz dolls were a huge source of inspiration for me. I could stare at my Lisa Frank notebooks for hours, getting lost in her pretend colorful world. However, overtime I’ve found that a lot of my favorite illustrations like those of Lisa frank were sorely lacking In representation. I hope to change that with my artwork.
