Artist Statement: I am a 20 year old Mexican-American first-generation student majoring in Graphic Design at Columbia. I am the first of four siblings to expand my education past high school, and I owe everything to my family. This is actually my first semester here, but I’m a transfer student so I’m in my Junior year! A lot of my traditionally done work is typically inspired by my culture. I try to represent both the beauty and the obstacles that come along with it mainly through portraits.
