I strive to make art that is accessible, inclusive, and often humorous. I want to encourage new ways of looking at everyday experiences, I want to describe invisible places, and I want to help us inspire each other.
My favorite medium to work with is handmade paper because it is natural, lightweight, and very versatile.
I create sculpture, spectacle, and installations.
For inspiration, I take a lot of walks and I love to go exploring in places I haven’t been before. I also like to look around stores that sell raw materials such as fabrics, home improvement supplies, and architectural salvage, and I like toy and antique shops. I prefer natural history museums over art museums but when I do look at other artists’ work some of my favorites are Kiki Smith, Anselm Kiefer, Dan Peterman, and Dr. Seuss.
