Artist Statement:

Justin Sinkovich is a full-time faculty member in the Business and Entreneurship Department at Columbia College Chicago, and remains active as a media entrepreneur, music producer and performer.   The Poison Arrows is a three-piece band from Chicago comprised of bassist Patrick Morris (ex Don Caballero), drummer Adam Reach, and guitarist, vocalist Justin Sinkovich (ex Atombombpocketknife, Thumbnail). After two LP’s and two EP’s on File 13 Records, and accompanying tours from 2007-2011, the band went on hiatus to recharge. They began playing again in 2015 and working on their third album entitled ‘No Known Note’ which was released on April 28, 2017. The title is a phrase Patrick used in rehearsal to explain to his bandmates what he was was playing on two songs in the works. There are two songs on the album named No Known Note (Part I and Part II).

The basic tracks were recorded at Electrical Audio by Greg Norman (as were the previous two albums). Bob Weston mastered it at Chicago Mastering Service. All of the overdubbed guitars, keyboards, percussion and vocals were recorded by Justin at his house and the band’s rehearsal space. One exception is Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys, Soulside, New Wet Kojak), who recorded his own vocals for track for, “Stuck On Screen.” Other guests include Tony Lazzara (Bloodiest, Atombombpocketknife, Sterling) who plays additional guitar on “Derailmentship” and “Wedding,” and Brian Case (Disappears, Ponys, 90 Day Men) plays additional guitar on “That Window is Closed.”

The photos for the artwork and layout was provided by longtime friends and collaborators Alexis Fleisig (Girls Against Boys, Bellini, Obits, Soulside) and David Babbitt (Touch and Go Records) respectively.
