Clarissa Chevalier is a Chicago based painter, who works primarily with acrylic on canvas. She is currently enrolled at Columbia College Chicago, and is planning to pursue a career in both art history and fine arts.
The arts have been a part of her life since early childhood. Growing up around her grandfather, who was a cartoonist, and her father, a mixed media artist, she was inspired to create at a young age. Chevalier also spent a year abroad studying at a fine arts school located in her mothers hometown of Bamberg, Germany.
She draws strong influences from Surrealism, Futurism, and the Bauhaus School of Design. Chevalier seeks to create minimalistic, surrealist, figurative art often involving the human figure.
