A Nice Day For Nothing statement:
Mountaintop cabins, candlelight living, and utilizing all that the land has to offer–the way Vermonters choose to live comes in various degrees. Although, the state does have a reputation for fighting eyesores such as cellular towers and roadside ads; billboards have been banned since 1968, allowing the Green Mountain State's breathtaking landscape to shine through. There is an unmistakable desire for a simple way of life in the Northeast Kingdom. It is a place where the “lack of” defines its contents–a place where nothing is everything. This body of work aims to not only bring attention to a way of life that often goes unnoticed, but to also depict the compromises between man and modernization on the natural landscape.
